Dear Careers Division Members and Friends:
Thanks again for all of your efforts--submitting papers/symposia, reviewing submissions, serving as facilitators or session chairs--to create a wonderful program. Those of you who came to the sessions in Chicago can attest to this; those who missed the conference and the Careers sessions missed out on stimulating, integrating, and ground-breaking work. The votes are not yet tallied for the best symposium of 2009; however, I do want to thank Maggie Brooks, David Kaplan, and Sherry Sullivan who organized the award process, and who, along with Deb O'Neill, distributed rating forms to participants attending the five symposia nominated for the best symposium. (Start thinking now about symposia for next year's conference in Montreal!) Thanks also go to Gayle Baugh, division secretary and vote tallier! Finally, I'd like to thank everyone who attended the Careers Division business meeting and social; it was great to see so many of you there. A special thanks go to Joy Schneer for ordering food for the social. The food was quite good in my view....which it should have been considering the small fortune we paid for it!
Handing the program chair reigns into the hands of the very capable Svetlana Khapova, I can now relax (a bit) and look forward to another exciting year. Consider staying in touch with your friends and colleagues throughout the year using AOM Connect. Why wait until next August!?
