Assistant Professor in Human Resource Management

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEWEB) of VU University Amsterdam seeks to combine high quality education with excellent research. The Faculty offers three Dutch taught Bachelor's programmes (Economics and Business Economics, Econometrics and Operations Research, and Business Administration), one English taught Bachelor's programme (International Business Administration), eight English taught Master's programmes and thirteen postgraduate programmes. The faculty has several research groups with an outstanding international reputation. FEWEB accommodates approximately 5000 students and 1500 postgraduate students. Over 500 staff members are employed at the Faculty.
FEWEB is looking for a new assistant professor at the department of Management and Organization.
Tasks
- Teaching in English (master level) or Dutch (bachelor level) within one of the mentioned fields, thesis supervision, designing and grading exams and design of courses;
- Research in the field of one of the disciplines;
- We aim at publications in international journals with high isi rankings.
- We respect an ability to build up and maintain an own line of internationally visible research;
- We also expect an active interest in other work in the group and an eye for opportunities to develop common strengths;
- Coordination of courses, and eventually participation in project groups or committees within the department or faculty.
Requirements
- Experience with teaching or training, and proven competencies in this field;
- A PhD in business administration or a related social science and publications in international scientific journals;
- Expertise in one of the fields;
- Regarding the consulting specialization it could also be a combination of experience as consultant and expertise in a related field like strategy or organization.
Particulars
The position is a tenure track position with an initial appointment for 2+4 years and the possibility of tenure. At the end of the second year a performance evaluation will take place deciding on the extension of the appointment for another 4 years. In the fifth year of the appointment the tenure decision will be taken.
Salary
The salary will be in accordance with university regulations for academic personnel, and depending on experience, in the range of EUR 3195 to EUR 4970 gross per month (salary scales 11 and 12 for Assistant Professor ) based on a fulltime employment.
