"Careers in the Rough" PDW – CAR Research Development Workshop

Modeled on the Cognition in the Rough PDW offered by the MOC division, "Careers in the Rough" is a research development workshop featuring roundtable discussions consisting of 2 accomplished researchers and typically three participants presenting papers/ideas in the formative stages.  "Careers in the Rough" represents an excellent opportunity to engage in dialogue about your research with individuals who have contributed significantly to the field and have been successful in publishing their work in top journals.  The panel of accomplished researchers includes:  Douglas T. Hall, Sherry Sullivan, Michael Arthur, Hugh Gunz, Amy Wrzesniewski, Yehuda Baruch, Peter Cappelli, Peter Heslin, Stacy Blake-Beard, Jeffrey Greenhaus, Kim Eddlest on, Ma ury Peiperl, Berrin Erdogan, and Barbara Lawrence.  The workshop will be held on Friday, August 3 from 5:30-6:00 pm in the Convention Center, Room 104B.

Interested?  Participants are asked to provide a 1500 word overview of a research topic, conceptual framework, research questions, or methodology, anticipated contributions to research/practice and key findings if the research is complete.  If desired, you may also write an additional 250 words on a challenge that you need help addressing.  The researchers at your table will read and provide helpful comments on the each proposal with the intent of moving new and innovative ideas for research on to good publications.  Submissions are due by July 1, 2007.

We look forward to seeing you!  Please feel free to contact Holly Slay (slayh@seattleu.edu) if you have questions or need additional information.
