Dear colleagues,
let me direct your attention to two exciting activities during the Professional Development Workshops at the <st1:placetype w:st="on">Academy</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Management Conference</st1:placename> on Sunday August 10 in <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Anaheim</st1:place></st1:city>.
In the spirit of the legendary Rocky tours, 'Beach Boys and Girls. How Life at the Beach Reflects Careers in Real Life, program #148' allows us time together and sharing views on careers at a nice and reserved place including shade at <st1:city w:st="on">Huntington beach</st1:city> (Zack's <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Pier</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Plaza</st1:placetype></st1:place>, see www.beachfoodfun.com). A bus will take us from the Anaheim Hilton (departure 10.15 a.m.) to <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Huntington beach</st1:place></st1:city>. There we will be able to start our program, including meeting 'typical' people who work on the beach and will share their views on careers, expert statements on the future of careers and 'alternative careers', creating future career landscapes by building our own sculptures in the sand, having some snacks, share some insight, take part in typical beach activities (Zack's has a lot to rent, including surfing lessons) and have a lot of fun. Highly recommended: bring your sun blocker, beach gear, and a relaxed mood! The program will finish at 4 p.m., a bus will bring us back to the Anaheim Hilton where we should arrive around 5 p.m. Please register under https://secure.aomonline.org/PDWReg until July 11. Fee: about 40 Dollars. Career Night at the Beach is the traditional Saturday social of the Career Division. Light snacks and drinks will be available. It should be a nice way of starting into the evening or closing the afternoon, so bring your friends and enjoy the company of members and friends of the career division. No prior registration is required.
