    Dear Academy Careers Division members

The Social Science Faculty of the University of Sheffield is making
available five Research Fellowships and Senior Research Fellowships
for ambitious and high-achieving people. Successful applicants will
spend 3 – 5 years primarily focussed on the delivering an innovative
research agenda and then move to a full academic position within the
most appropriate of the Faculty’s Departments. So this is a route to a
    permanent job!

It would be great to welcome at least one of these Fellows to the
University of Sheffield Management School, and even better if it's to
School's Institute of Work Psychology (IWP) or its HRM/OB Division. If
you would like to find out more, please see
    http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/jobs/researchfellows and
    http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/management

I would be happy to talk about the School and this opportunity with
potential applicants informally, though please understand I am not in
charge of this initiative. Don't be deterred if you get my out of
office autoresponse - I will endeavour to contact you.

Also, if you are a practitioner or manager seeking to move into an
academic career in the UK, you may be interested in another
Fellowship. This one is located in IWP and is sponsored by the
Society for the Advancement of Management Studies (SAMS) and the UK
Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES) in partnership with the
Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). It is for 2-3 years, and
the expectation is that the Fellow will then move into a full-time
academic post in the Management School, probably but not necessarily
IWP. If you would like to know more, please go to
http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/jobs and look up job reference number
UOS003755. Again, I'm more than happy to talk about this informally.
