Under the conditions of the Constitution of the Careers Division of the
Academy of Management, elections will be held in April-May 2007 for
positions in the Division which will become vacant in August 2007. As
Immediate Past Chair of the Division I carry responsibility to Chair a
Nominating Committee of Officers of the Division which supervises these
elections.
This year the Academy is preparing an on-line tool which will facilitate
the nominations process for all Divisions. The Careers Division will
utilize this tool. However, due to technical issues the tool is not yet
ready for use. It should be available in a week or so. In the meantime,
this notice is to advise CAR members of the vacancies so that they may
consider who to nominate.
The vacant positions are as follows:
*Program Chair (one-year term) with responsibility to act as Program Chair
for the Division in the 2008 Annual Meeting. Note: Under the Constitution,
the person elected as Program Chair for 2007-8 will automatically become
Chair-Elect of the Division in 2008-9 and Chair in 2009-2010.
*PDW Chair (one-year term) with responsibility to chair the Professional
Development program for the Division in the 2008 Annual Meeting
*Newsletter Chair (two-year term), with responsibility edit two editions
of Career Forum per year, and to recruit other members of the Division to
assist.
*Three representatives-at-large on the Division's steering committee.
This message is sent as an initial reminder to members of the Division to
begin thinking about the process and possible nominees. Expect further
advice soon.
