    Main Conference Aims

The tenth annual conference of the CiCe Network has a particular focus on how young people develop and extend their identities. We aim to bring together staff from higher education institutions who educate those in the education and social professions who work with children and young people. Papers at the conference will range from research findings to analysis of practice. We welcome all lecturers and researchers in universities and other higher education institutions with an interest in our themes, as well as those in NGOs and policy fields.

    Research Student Conference

We will be preceding the Main Conference with our second Research Student Conference, on 28th ~ 29th May. This will include doctoral training sessions and the opportunity for research students to present papers to a smaller audience.

    Themes

This year′s conference has a particular emphasis on Universities and Colleges and the development of identities, as related to citizenship education. We welcome papers on this, and on teaching of citizenship-related issues in the areas of social, political, economic, history/geographic, cultural/arts and environmental education. There will be papers, workshops, plenary addresses and round-table discussions.

The second Annual Meeting of the Children′s Identity and Citizenship European Association will follow the conference on Saturday 31st May.
