    Hi, Cherry,

I had sent this message to Leisa, but then I received an autoreply saying that she was on leave.  So, in case it doesn't reach her, could you arrange to have this information and the Globe web page sent out to the Careers Division members?
      Many thanks.

            All the best,
            Tim

    Hi, Leisa,

Would you please forward this obituary on Peter Arthur (Michael Arthur's son) to members of the Careers Division?  The article appeared in today's Boston Globe, and it gives a good sense of this young man's remarkable life and impact on others.  As Herb Shepard would say, this was truly a life worth living.

I went to the wake today, and the turnout was incredible.  When I arrived, the waiting line at the funeral home had stretched outside the building and extended down the street for well over a hundred yards.  By the time my portion of the line entered the building, the line had reached to the end of the (long) block.   It took about 1 1/2 hours to reach the receiving area.  I told Michael about the tremendous outpouring of supportive messages that are going around the Internet as people react to the sad news.  I'm sure that if his academic friends and colleagues were not so geographically disbursed, the line would have been much, much longer!

Thanks very much for circulating this article.

            All the best,
            Tim
