The Department of Management at Rider University is seeking a candidate for a tenure-track position in the area of Organizational Behavior and Management at the Assistant Professor level starting in September 2014.
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Management or Organizational Behavior (or a closely related field) by September 2014. The candidate must show strong potential in teaching as well as research skills consistent with AACSB standards. He/she will primarily teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the domain of team management, management skills, leadership, and organizational behavior. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in developing leadership skills of traditional undergraduate students as well as interacting with working adult learners in the MBA and Executive MBA programs.
The 10-month work year has a standard teaching load of 3 fall/3 spring classes, with 13-week semesters. Summer teaching opportunities are available on the Rider campus. Tenure-track faculty members are expected to conduct research leading to publications in quality refereed journals, and participate in department, school, and university service activities. Summer research fellowships and other research funding are available.
Rider University is a private, AACSB-accredited, coeducational university located near Princeton, NJ, and within easy driving distance or train ride to New York City and Philadelphia. Rider is ranked in the top tier of northern regional universities by US News and World Report and was named by The Princeton Review as one of the "Best 376 Colleges" in the nation for 2012. The Department of Management currently consists of 12 faculty members with diverse teaching and research interests.
