The planned special issue continues the discussion about the benefits of vocational interests for different issues in work and organizational psychology. Themes of the special issue include, for example, the following areas:
- Vocational interest models and their assessment: Construct validity, comparison and/or integration of models, nomological network of interests
- Criterion related validity: Interests and occupational performance or academic success; importance of interests for career stability, job satisfaction, commitment and other work and organizational psychological constructs
- Vocational interests and their interlink with career choice readiness and stability of vocational choices
- Importance of gender differences for interest diagnostics
- Cross-cultural perspectives on interest models and interest assessment
- Benefits of interest assessment for student and professional career counseling
The special issue is open for a broad range of contributions, including original studies, short research reports, reviews or meta-analyses. The publication of the special issue is planned as issue 01/2016 of the „Zeitschrift fuer Arbeits- und Organisationspsychologie" (ZAO; http://www.hogrefe.de/zeitschriften/zeitschrift-fuer-arbeits-und-organisationspsychologie-a-o/).
