  • 1.  Adjunct Instructor Positions for new B.S. in Health Information Management

    Posted 06-24-2011 12:47

The City University of New York has launched a new online bachelor's degree in Health Information Management. We are seeking highly qualified adjunct instructors in relevant subject areas, most notably, healthcare management, healthcare quality and improvement, health information systems, and healthcare technology. Instructors should bring a combination of theory and practice to their students, and also must be committed to teaching. We encourage instructors to use a combination of pedagogical styles including project-based learning, formative assessment, writing intensive assignments, among others. We also encourage instructors to help students develop professional skills (e.g., creativity, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and communication), beyond their courses' subject matter.

To learn more about the program see http://online.sps.cuny.edu/program/health.aspx.

Candidates should hold an earned doctorate or be in candidate status. Some master's degrees may be appropriate. Experience in healthcare organizations is preferred. The RHIT, RHIA, CHDA, or CHPS credentials are a plus.  These are adjunct positions only. While it is not necessary to live in New York, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. If interested in an adjunct teaching position, please email your resume to Paul Russo at paul.russo@mail.cuny.edu.

    Best regards,

    Paul Russo
