     Dear Colleagues,

    Apologies for the cross-postings.

We are organizing a presenter symposium on Multiple Minority Identities in the Workplace for submission to the 2016 Academy of Management Conference in Anaheim, CA.  Individuals in the workplace may belong to two or more minority categorizations (e.g., class, culture, disability, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation); thus, identifying with multiple minority classifications.

Presentations could address such questions as: When individuals belong to multiple minority categorizations, which minority identity is more salient and what are the factors that contribute to the dominant identity? How do multiple minority identities impact workplace outcomes (e.g., hiring decisions, performance evaluations, and turnover)? How are multiple minority identities linked to inclusiveness in organizations? How do multiple minority identities contribute to meaningfulness within organizations?

If you would like to participate as a presenter, please submit a 150-200 word abstract of your paper idea to Demetria Henderson at henderson@uta.edu.  We will then select the 4-5 papers that best fit the symposium focus on multiple minority identities in the workplace and align with this year's theme of Making Organizations Meaningful.

Please submit your abstracts by midnight (New York Time) December 18, 2015. Please see the timeline below for more details.

    • December 18: Short abstract due

    • December 21: Notification goes out to selected papers

    • January 4: 2–5 page synopsis of paper to allow for feedback and revisions prior to submission

    • January 12: Symposium submission by organizers

    Regards,
