The Department of Management at Michigan State University is seeking to add a new tenure-stream faculty member (assistant professor or advanced assistant professor) beginning in August 2017 in the area of Human Resource Management. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in a relevant area of scholarship (e.g., Human Resource Management, Industrial and Organizational Psychology) by August 2017. Preference will be given to applicants who have demonstrated the ability to publish high quality research in top-tier management and applied psychology journals. Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate and graduate courses in areas related to human resource management. In addition, applicants should be able to demonstrate ability as a classroom instructor through summarized peer and/or student evaluations and/or explicit commentary in letters of recommendation. Salary is competitive.
We are looking for candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our current group of human resource management and organizational behavior faculty (Georgia Chao, Don Conlon, Nick Hays, John Hollenbeck, Russ Johnson, Frederick Morgeson, John Schaubroeck, Brent Scott, Linn Van Dyne, John Wagner) and our strategic management faculty (He Gao, Gerry McNamara, Kevin Miceli, Kent Miller, Jamal Shamsie, Bob Wiseman) through their research, teaching, and service. Collaboration opportunities also exist with faculty and doctoral students in other departments on campus, including those in industrial and organizational psychology.
To be given consideration, applicants must provide a cover letter describing their primary research interests and accomplishments, a curriculum vitae, a recent sample of teaching evaluations, and three letters of recommendation.
