Invitation to Research on Faculty Mentoring Relationships

  • 1.  Invitation to Research on Faculty Mentoring Relationships

    Posted 10-03-2014 20:29
    Dear colleagues:
Please accept our invitation to participate in research on mentoring and developmental relationships between faculty and doctoral, masters, and undergraduate students.  This research is being conducted by Dr. Ethlyn A. Williams (Florida Atlantic University) and myself - Dr. Bryan J. Deptula (Central Washington University). Potential benefits of this research are that results may improve outcomes for both partners in the relationship by understanding how best to 'match' individuals for mentoring and developmental relationships.

    Click to Take the Survey

Phase 1 involves faculty and their student proteges answering pre- and post-questions regarding experiences in current or previous mentoring and developmental relationships. In phase 2, respondents will ask observers (colleague, mentor, protégé, etc...) to provide performance feedback.

Please participate even if you do not think of this as a mentoring or developmental relationship. We ask you to send this invitation to all individuals to which you have been a mentor, protege, or adviser. Where possible, send along this invitation to individuals who might not be a part of this List-Serve.

To ensure confidentiality of survey responses, all information is anonymous and data will only be seen by researchers. Thank you in advance for your participation  in this important research study.

    Much appreciation!
