I thought this might be of interest to the boundaryless career people
(& maybe others).
Anne M Mulcahy is interviewed by Adam Bryant (Sunday, March 22, 2009;
Business Section New York Times, "Corner Office").
She says that adaptability and flexibility are the qualities she finds
herself looking for in job candidates.
Adam: How to you get a sense of whether a person has that quality?
Anne: I thinking seeing how much breadth someone's had, and their
appetite for not just vertical career ladders, but their appetite
for what I call horizontal experiences, where it wasn't always just
about a title or the next layer up. And that there was this desire
to learn new thinsg, to kind of grab onto things that were may even
somewhat non-traditional.
Boundaryless careers anyone?
