Dear CAR members,
I am happy to let you know we have had a vote, and below you can find
the final outcomes of the election.
May I remind you all that for the two roles of Division Chair and
Division Chair-Elect, this should be considered more as 'vote of
confidence' rather than election, as we have the rule of succession
(applied widely in all AoM divisions).
So,
Cherlyn S Granrose and Barbara A Ribbens won your 'vote of confidence'
for the roles of Division Chair and Division Chair-Elect respectively.
Jon Briscoe was elected Division Program Chair, and Hetty van Emmerik
elected Division PDW Program Chair.
Laurel Newman was elected our Division Treasurer (first time we appoint
a Treasurer - yes, we grew up in numbers and activity to justify such an
appointment), and the three elected members for what we knew as
'Steering Committee', and now re-named by the Academy as 'Representative
at Large' (what a strange title) are (in alphabetical order) Nikos
Bozionelos, Kimberly A. Eddleston and Julia Richardson.
Well done to the new faces in our leadership, and thanks for the members
for voting - not surprising, we are not merely the caring division, we
are also the involved division - with 34% of membership voting (one of
the highest around).
Dealing with the election was my last role in my formal duties for the
Division. Many thanks for all of you. With people like you it was
wonderful to serve the Division. I will still be around, of course, and
happy to help and be involved.
