Apologies for any cross-postings.  The department of management at the University of Texas at Arlington is seeking an Assistant Professor in HR. Please see details below. Thanks!

Assistant Professor of Human Resource Management
    University of Texas at Arlington

    Department of Management

The Department of Management at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) seeks applicants for a tenure track position in Human Resource Management at the Assistant Professor level, beginning fall 2016. Candidates with one to two years of experience are desired, but we also encourage recent graduates and more senior assistants to apply. In the exceptional case, applicants at the associate or full rank will be considered. The preferred applicant will have completed their PhD within the last four years in human resources, organizational behavior, or a related field. We seek individuals who have demonstrated potential to publish in top-tier management journals, the capacity to teach HRM courses at all levels, and the ability to work well in a collegial, interdisciplinary department.

Over the past four years, members of our department have published in top-tier management outlets including the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of International Business Studies, and Journal of Business Venturing. We hold current editorial board appointments at journals including Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, and Journal of Vocational Behavior. The College of Business at UTA offers a very supportive environment for research with salary, research support, and low teaching loads competitive with other major research universities. Our PhD program also allows opportunities to work with talented and motivated students. The department offers a number of undergraduate HR courses and a MS in Human Resource Management, which provides a variety of teaching options.

With a commitment to life-enhancing research, teaching excellence, and community service, UTA is an educational leader in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, and its urban location offers many opportunities for dual-career families. The University's approximately 48,000 students pursue more than 180 bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees in an extensive range of disciplines. The College of Business itself offers several masters programs, MBAs, and a PhD in Business Administration. It also operates the largest EMBA program in China.

Interested candidates should email the following application materials to Dr. Marcus Butts, HR Search Committee Chair, at manaHRjob@uta.edu : (a) a cover letter detailing your interests in UTA, (b) a curriculum vitae, (c) a research writing example, and (d) three letters of academic reference. We will be interviewing select candidates at the AOM meetings in Vancouver. If you are interested in being considered for an interview, please send us your completed application materials by July 24, 2015. Screening of applications will begin immediately and will continue until November 1, 2015, or when the position is filled.

The University of Texas at Arlington is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. Women, minorities, veterans, and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply. A criminal background check will be conducted on finalists.  The use of tobacco products is prohibited on UTA properties.
