Dear CAR members,
Since the last Annual Meeting in San Antonio I officially serve as Associated Editor of the Career Forum. This is a career division's service for their members to keep them updated about relevant career topics. Career division members contribute by summarizing career relevant discussions in certain journals. Katharina Chudzikowski (Newsletter Editor) and I reflected on this form of member service and would like to introduce a new original way of presenting this service. We would like to provide you with a "Research Note" written by a career scholar, once a year. This "Research Note" summarizes emerging themes in career research in the present year. It could well be used by scholars as a launching point for a review article on careers. Moreover, inspired by several PDWs at our Annual meetings, we would also like to couple it with a "Practitioner Note" which points to key emerging/future career themes that managers are interested in. This second note can be written by a scholar or a practitioner. The "Practitioner Note" might also be used as a way to develop a writing style for practitioner-oriented journals. These notes are expected to be brief (not more than couple of pages).
If you are interested in writing one of these notes, please send me (to this same email address) an abstract with your full affiliation and contact details by 30 April. We hope that you like our idea and welcome your contributions if you like to write one of these notes in 2012.
We are looking forward to hearing from you!
