    Committee

    Careers Division Elections

As of today, 184 of the Division's members have voted in our annual
election. That's just 31.6% of the 582 members of the Division. Based on
figures circulated to me a few days ago by the Academy, I believe the
Division is running slightly behind the average turnout for the Academy as
a whole. On the other hand it is well within sight of the 34% figure
achieved by the Division in the 2006 election.

If you have already voted, thank you for taking the trouble to show an
interest in the Division's affairs. If you are one of the 398 who have
not, I urge you to get on-line and vote NOW. We have excellent candidates,
but they need the confidence of knowing the Division's members are behind
them. Also remember that the Academy judges our commitment as a Division
partly by the energy we show in elections.

For each of the positions Program Chair, PDW Chair, and Newsletter Chair,
there is only one nominated candidate, but these candidates need to know
they have the confidence of the Division, and there is the opportunity to
write-in additional candidates if you wish. For the three positions of
Representative-at-Large there are six good candidates, so every vote is
    critical.

Voting takes place on-line and the process is very simple. Simply go to

The election closes on Friday May 19. You will need to log-in using your
last name and your member ID# as password.

    Thank you for voting!

    Best wishes,

    Kerr Inkson

    Hi

I believe the division needs to get two candidates for each slot to make
it a real election and give true choice and voice to the members.

Thank you for listening to this input.
