Faculty Position in the Negotiations Area

The Darden School is seeking applications from highly qualified individuals with expertise and interest in the general area of negotiations. The Darden School especially encourages applications from minorities, women, and those with significant international experience.
We seek someone who can assume a leadership position at the School in the important area of negotiations. The ideal candidate will have a number of capabilities including:
· an active research program and a track record of publishing in top academic and practitioner outlets on topics associated with negotiations ("thought leadership" in the negotiations area)
· experience in teaching MBA and executive MBA students and executive education participants in a "student centered" environment
· experience and interest in developing curriculum materials (teaching related books, case studies, notes, etc.)
· able to be a member of one of our existing areas of the school (a list of areas includes accounting, finance, global economies and markets, leadership and organizational behavior, management communications, marketing, operations, quantitative analysis, and strategy, ethics, and entrepreneurship)
Currently Darden offers multiple sections of Bargaining and Negotiations as an elective in the MBA program and the MBA for Executives Program. It is among our most popular and highest rated courses. We have also offered related electives such as Multi-Party Negotiations, Managing Conflict and Leveraging Consensus, and Cross Border Negotiations Seminar. Negotiations is a module in a number of non-degree executive educations offerings, and it is offered as a course by itself on an open subscription basis.
Sherwood Frey, a professor affiliated with the Quantitative Analysis area, has provided the major leadership in our negotiations efforts for many years. A number of other full time and adjunct faculty from other areas (including communications, leadership and organizational behavior, and global economic markets) have also contributed to the program.
We are considering faculty at all ranks although our ideal candidate is likely to have a few of years of experience teaching negotiations to MBA students. A doctorate in business or a related discipline is required. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until suitable candidates are identified.
