    Dear AOM Chair:

I am serving as the Chair of the AOM Career Achievement Awards Committee for 2006-2007. As you know, this committee is responsible for reviewing nominations and selecting recipients for the following awards:

    1. Distinguished Educator Award
    2. Distinguished Scholar Practitioner Award
    3. Distinguished Service Award
    4. Distinguished Scholarly Contribution Award.

The members of the award committee are: Ed Locke (Maryland), Gary Latham (Toronto), Keith Murnighan (Northwestern), Michael Frese (U of Giessen, Germany) and Mary Ann Von Glinow.

We are extending the deadline for nominations to April 30th to widen the circle of potential nominees. Could you please send out an email to your Division's membership informing them of this action and asking them to consider nominating deserving colleagues? The call for nominations and past recipients are listed on Academy of Management website: http://www.aomonline.org/. Click on the People and Communities, then select the "Recognition and Involvement" tab on the left menu and click on "Awards."

I would appreciate your help in this. Recognizing our deserving colleagues is an important way for us to appreciate their career achievements and to create role models for our younger colleagues. If I can provide any further information, please don't hesitate to contact me.

    Many thanks for your help.

    Best regards,

    Mike Beer
