Careers in the Rough: Call for Manuscripts

    Overview:
The Careers in the Rough workshop offers PhD students and junior scholars a great opportunity to discuss their careers-related research with leading careers scholars who will mentor them regarding their manuscript's theoretical development, methodology, discuss the implications, and provide constructive feedback regarding potential publishing outlets. Participants will be placed in conversation with two mentors based largely on the match between their manuscript and the mentors' areas of expertise and interests. This session will also offer an important opportunity to discuss core principles and practices of publishing careers research in a form of a large group discussion.

Mentors include: Jos Akkermans, Michael Arthur, Yehuda Baruch, Gayle Baugh, Torsten Biemann, Nikos Bozionelos, Shoshana Dobrow Riza, Kimberly Eddleston, Danna Greenberg, Stefanie Gustafsson, Andreas Hirschi, Peter A. Heslin, Barbara S. Lawrence, Emma Parry, Maury Peiperl, Julia Richardson, Bert Schreurs, Sherry E. Sullivan, Daniel Turban, and Andreas Wihler.

    Participants are asked to submit:

    • a near final careers manuscript,
    • a brief description (up to 250 words) regarding a challenge related to your manuscript that you would like help addressing,
    • and a name of a target journal
via e-mail to Igor Bartolec at i.bartolec@fs.de by June 26. Pre-registration is required for this PDW as space is limited. Earlier applications are highly encouraged, as we will be doing rolling admissions. Precedence will be given to registrants who did not participate in the 'Careers in the Rough' online workshop this March.
