    Dear colleagues,

We invite abstract submissions for the Professional Development Workshop "Entrepreneurship and Marginalization," to be held at the 2026 Academy of Management Annual Meeting in New York City (sponsored by the Entrepreneurship Division).

Research on marginalization in established organizations has grown rapidly, yet we know far less about what happens when marginalized individuals turn to entrepreneurship. This workshop brings scholars together to develop a research agenda on how entrepreneurship transforms-rather than simply reproduces or overcomes-the mechanisms through which marginalization operates.

The PDW features a panel of distinguished scholars, thematic roundtables where participants receive constructive feedback on pre-submitted abstracts, and a closing panel of emerging scholars charting future directions.

Distinguished speakers: Damon J. Phillips (Wharton), Pamela Tolbert (Cornell ILR), Kaisa Snellman (INSEAD), Bala Vissa (INSEAD), and Diana Jue-Rajasingh (Rice).

Roundtable leaders: Tristan Botelho (Yale), Stefan Dimitriadis (Toronto Rotman), Amisha Miller (NYU Stern), Leo Pongeluppe (Wharton), and Pete Younkin (Oregon), along with the organizers.

We welcome submissions from scholars at all career stages-doctoral students, postdocs, and faculty-whose work engages marginalization and entrepreneurship. Both completed papers and work in progress are welcome.

To submit, complete the short form (abstract up to 800 words) here:

    Deadline: midnight, July 20, 2026.

Questions are welcome. We hope you will join us in New York.

    Best regards,
