Join us for this exciting PDW on Multiple Jobholding and Perspectives for Organizations

    Objective of the PDW
Multiple jobholding (MJH) has become an increasingly prevalent phenomenon as the world of work has changed around us. This PDW will offer participants an understanding of MJH and existing research regarding it, specifically within the context of the Global South, in countries such as India. Further, it draws attention to why organizations are likely to be interested in knowing how performance and related concerns may get affected by people holding multiple jobs. The aim is to engage with the following questions:

    1. What is the significance of MJH and its inevitability in the current context?
    2. What are the theories that may be used to conceptualize the research on MJH and its impact on organizational outcomes?
    3. What are some leadership actions and stances that can influence the multiple job holders (MJHers) performance in organizations?
    4. What are the potential boundary conditions that may impact the performance of the MJHer?
    5. What are the methods that may be used to study the impact of MJH on organizational outcomes?
    6. What cultural dynamics might be at play while managing MJHers working in team settings?
    7. What might be some of the manager or leader's stances that can help MJHers to give their best to the organization?

What to expect from the PDW?
The workshop would involve four paper presentations, followed the chair(s) setting the research agenda regarding implications for organizations, leaders, and managers, and suggest some future directions, as they open the workshop to the audience for questions, deliberations, and discussions. We invite participants to come and explore the existing intrigues, challenges, and gaps in MJH research and develop an understanding of what kind of evidence based research can be relevant and necessary for contemporary organizations around this phenomenon.
