    The Department of Management in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas seeks applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor position in the Department of Management. This is a non-tenure track position that offers an opportunity to teach both traditional and on-line classes. We seek candidates with diverse skills and abilities who want to play a meaningful role in the life of the Walton College of Business. This Teaching Assistant Professor position has a four-course teaching requirement each semester (12 credit hours per semester). The candidate selected will teach undergraduate courses in organizational behavior and human resource management and may be asked to teach master's level courses in the future. The expected start date for the position is Fall 2023, but we will consider a Summer 2023 start date for interested candidates. The appointment is potentially renewable and salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
    Required Qualifications:
    • Prior to employment, the candidate must have, or expect to have, a doctorate in Management or a related discipline from an AACSB (or equivalent) accredited university
    • Qualified as a Scholarly Academic or Practice Academic under AACSB standards (this could include recent publications in peer reviewed journals and/or engagement in professional practice through outreach, consulting, or other activities consistent with AACSB standards)
    • Interest or experience in teaching organizational behavior and human resource management related classes 
     
    Preferred Qualifications: 
    • Record of excellence and innovation in teaching undergraduate and master's level organizational behavior and/or human resource management related classes using face-to-face and online course delivery methods
    • Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in Management, Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, or I/O Psychology
    The Department of Management currently offers two undergraduate majors (Human Resource Management and Organizational Leadership and Management) and a Leadership minor for non-business students. We also offer a Ph.D. in Management. We are currently comprised of teaching and tenure-track faculty members who focus on human resource management and organizational behavior. Our faculty are active in and have received research and teaching awards from HR and OB-related professional organizations as well as from the University of Arkansas and the Walton College of Business. In addition, faculty have consistently published in top tier journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Personnel Psychology, among others.     The Sam M. Walton College of Business was founded at the University of Arkansas in 1926 and accredited by AACSB International since 1931. Walton has been ranked as a top 30 public business school for nearly two decades by U.S. News & World Report. U.S. News & World Report ranks the college as the 24th best public business program and 36th among public and private institutions.     Application Requirements

    • Evidence of interest or experience in teaching organizational behavior and human resource management related classes 
    • Experiences and knowledge related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (e.g., ways that DEI is incorporated into teaching, how DEI trends in the discipline are tracked, DEI philosophy, experiences teaching or working with diverse students)
    • Applicants who expect to complete their Ph.D. by August 2023, should send a brief description of their dissertation and the expected timeline for completion. Completion of the doctoral degree is expected prior to employment for the position offered.
