    The Department of Management in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas is seeking candidates for three tenure-track faculty positions with specializations in organizational behavior, human resources management, and/or organizational research methods.  Two positions are open rank (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor), while one position is designated for an Assistant professor. For all positions, the expected start date is August 2025. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The job duties include research, teaching, and service. Conducting and publishing research in the top academic journals in the field is the primary job duty. Teaching expectations include teaching in person classes at the undergraduate, masters, or doctoral level, and holding in person office hours. The college requires service to the profession, university, and department at a level consistent with faculty rank. We also expect faculty to actively engage in department, college, and university activities at a level consistent with the AACSB designation of a participating faculty member.

    Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications

    ·         Candidates must have a Ph.D. (or expect to complete their Ph.D. before the start date) in management or a related discipline (e.g., industrial/organizational psychology) from an AACSB (or equivalent) accredited university

    ·         Candidates must have a demonstrated record, or strong potential, of publications in top-tier journals commensurate with rank

    ·         Candidates must meet standards to be classified as a Scholarly Academic for AACSB purposes

    Preferred Qualifications

    ·         Evidence, or potential, of strong research record and demonstrated leadership roles in research projects that result in top-tier journal publications

    ·         Strong pipeline of research consistent with the candidate's current rank

    ·         Demonstrated ability to provide an excellent learning environment in the classroom and value collegiality

    ·         For Associate or Full Professor candidates, record of developing junior colleagues and/or doctoral students

    ·         Evidence of interest to contribute to the doctoral program by mentoring doctoral students, chairing dissertation committees, and developing and teaching doctoral courses

    ·         Demonstrated active engagement with on-campus environment and participation in on-campus activities

    ·         Candidates being considered for the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor should have a record of research, teaching, and service performance that would warrant the awarding of tenure in the Department of Management at the University of Arkansas

    The Department of Management is comprised of faculty focusing their research in the broad areas of human resource management and organizational behavior. The tenured and tenure-track faculty include: John Delery, Rebecca MacGowan, Chris Rosen, Lauren Simon, Adam Stoverink, Michael Wilmot and Ying Zhang. Our faculty have consistently published in top journals including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Personnel Psychology, in addition to a number of other top outlets. In addition, our faculty have received best paper awards from journals and conferences, serve in editorial positions of numerous top journals, and have held leadership positions in the Academy of Management. We also have a historically strong doctoral program with a record of placing our students in Research I universities.     The Sam M. Walton College of Business, founded at the University of Arkansas in 1926 and accredited by AACSB International since 1931, has been ranked as a top 30 public business school for 15 years in a row by U.S. News & World Report. U.S. News currently ranks Walton College 28th. Four Walton College graduates serve as CEOs of Fortune 500 companies and nearly 30 Walton alumni occupy executive offices at Fortune 500 companies. In 1998, the Walton Family Charitable Support Foundation gave the Walton College an endowment of $50 million, at that time the single largest up-front cash gift to a business school.
