The Careers Division is proud to offer a great opportunity to discuss your careers-related research as part of our Spring Careers in the Rough initiative.
Like the popular Careers in the Rough workshop at the annual academy of management meeting, this virtual workshop will involve participants receiving feedback on their near final-form manuscript from an eminent scholar in the Careers Division during a 1-to-2-hour virtual mentoring session.
These leading careers scholars will facilitate the mentoring session and provide their mentees with feedback pertaining to topic choice, theoretical development, methodology, data analysis, and/or the theoretical and practical implications of your research.
Who are the leading career scholars involved?
We are delighted to announce that scholars serving as mentors for the Spring 2024 session are Jos Akkermans, Yehuda Baruch, Kimberly Eddleston, Mel Fugate, Danna Greenberg, Wolfgang Mayrhofer, Jamie Ladge, Julia Richardson, Bert Schreurs, and Sherry Sullivan.
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is open to careers researchers at all levels, particularly to those who are not able to attend the annual meeting.
What does the procedure look like?
If you would like to participate, please complete the application form by March 25th. The application form is available here.
The application requests a manuscript that is no more than 40 pages, including references, tables, and/or figures. Manuscripts should include a title page, with all authors and affiliations and an abstract. Manuscripts will be reviewed to ensure they adhere to requirements.
Applicants will be notified of acceptance and if accepted, matched with a mentor based largely on the fit between their paper and the scholars' interests/areas of expertise. Mentors and participants will then schedule an online session at a time suitable to discuss the manuscript. Each participant will receive feedback about the positive aspects of their work, as well as be invited into dialogue about how their manuscript might be improved.
