JIm Emerman from Encore.org is working on an RFP for a smallish research project. The basic idea is to identify a researcher to provide an analysis of five jobs in early childhood and K-12 education that are projected to grow in the next 5-10 years. For each one, he is looking for a very simple report/analysis of a few things:
· projected number of openings
· average salary or salary ranges (which will obviously vary considerably depending on geography)
· the skills and credentials needed for each one
· the extent to which these jobs might lend themselves to people over 50 and why these might be good matches
· resources to help people prepare for these jobs
· aside from credentialing, any other obvious barriers to entry for people over 50 - e.g. the amount of time it takes to become certified could be a barrier
· other considerations that might inhibit the growth of hiring, e.g. lack of state or local funding to fill the positions
He is thinking of something like 1-2 pages in bullet form for each of the five roles
If you are interested, please contact Jim directly. Thanks Sherry
